IANUA

In situ 3 February 2022 - 26 February 2022

Group show with Nina Bernagozzi, Clément Borderie, Nathanaëlle Herbelin, Seulgi Lee, Cat Loray, Simon Martin, Eva Nielsen, Elené Shatberashvili

Ianua means the door, the access in Latin, and this is where the god Janus’s name takes root. An idol of transition, of transformation, this being has two heads – one turned towards the past, the other towards the future – it perceives both the before and the after, the inside and the outside, the whole, without moving. Through a dive into the drawing’s constellation in its expanded form, the Ianua exhibition proposes to explore this apparent immobility, this suspension between two times. And it is located in this gap that the drawing will come to life through a metamorphosis, a life capable of inhabiting and hosting several forms simultaneously. *
