mixed media on paper
Eva Nielsen is a painter whose practice is characterized by a hybridity of forms and techniques. Mixing silkscreen, photography and painting, the artist explores the boundaries between each medium to reconstitute non-places. Architectural elements stand out from the background, creating a world that does not seem to belong to any space-time. In the exhibited works, landscapes are revealed through a screen, a glass or a filter, while human figures are revealed in a second time. A trompe-l’oeil that continues the artist’s research to challenge our visual and mental perception.
