TIM EITEL | Summer Guest 2022

The Böttcherstraße Museums will be re-launching the Summer Guest exhibition series in July 2022 and will be once again presenting a contemporary artist on this occasion. Tim Eitel (1971), one of the most successful painters of the « Neue Leipziger Schule » (New Leipzig School)  to date, will be shown at the Paula-Modersohn-Becker Museum.

Eitel’s figurative works offer a contemporary response to Paula Modersohn-Becker’s modern human representations by questioning and exploring the potential of painting to create images through space, light and temporality. By the use of spatial illusions, reflections or image-within-image, Eitel plays with the viewers’ perception, allowing them to identify with the characters often depicted from behind.
