Since 2012, Louidgi Beltrame has been developing research in Peru, which has led him to the Nazca geoglyphs, or to film the practice of curandero (traditional healer or shaman) José Levis Picón Saguma. Through films, photos, inks on canvas and a sculpture produced for this exhibition, the artist explores the liminal figure of the huaquero or “clandestine grave digger”.

Fernanda Brenner in discussion with Louidgi Beltrame and Laura Huertas Millán
In the framework of the exhibition La huaca llora at La Loge, curator Fernanda Brenner dialogues with artists and filmmakers Louidgi Beltrame and Laura Huertas Millán about their visual works and some of their common threads. The discussion will revolve around the ideas of beings in front & behind the camera, the transference of objects agency, interspecific relationships as well as the political use of plants.
A selection of excerpts from their films will complement the respective presentations and contributions from the guests.

The discussion will be held in English.
