In situ 5 September 2026 - 10 October 2026We are pleased to announce the first solo show of painter Claudio Coltorti at the gallery, on view from September 5 to October 10, 2026. The opening will take place on Saturday, September 5, from 4 pm to 9 pm, in the presence of the artist.
Born in Naples, Italy, in 1989, Claudio Coltorti lives and works in Paris. He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2016. His work has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions in France, most recently at LAC, Loukoums & Art Contemporain, Collection Jean-Michel Attal, Paris (2026), Galerie Hussenot (2023, 2025), and Galerie Maïa Muller (2021), as well as at Galleria Acappella in Naples (2020, 2022, 2024). In 2023, he participated in the group exhibition Pittura Italiana Contemporanea at the Triennale Milano, at the invitation of Damiano Gullì. His work has also been featured in group exhibitions in Italy, Greece, Belgium, and France. Claudio Coltorti’s painting occupies the porous space between figuration and abstraction, between dream and reality.
He draws upon art history as both a source of inspiration and a point of departure, studying the work of the great masters to extract lessons that inform and expand his own practice. Claudio Coltorti seeks to create paintings that belong entirely to painting itself—images untethered to any specific era, capable of existing across time. He builds his works layer by layer, allowing pigment to merge with and penetrate the surface of the canvas. For the artist, a painting is never a fixed image; he does not wish to impose its meaning upon the viewer. It is in constant transformation—if not physically, then metaphysically, within the mind of the spectator. His paintings aspire to be at once deeply personal and universal, as though they emerged from a metaphysical space containing forgotten memories.
