We are pleased to announce La Mer Monde, an exhibition by Ange Leccia presented in the church of the Convent of Morsiglia, organized by the FRAC Corsica, on view from 3 July to 31 August 2026.
The exhibition brings together two emblematic works by Ange Leccia: La Mer, from the FRAC Corsica collection, and Arrangement. Globes terrestres, a luminous installation composed of 228 globes.
La Mer is a silent video loop conceived as a single, painterly shot. Its subject is deceptively simple: the Mediterranean Sea, filmed during a storm above the beach of Nonza from the ruins of the Sassa castle. Yet Leccia rotates the image by 90 degrees. The horizon line disappears. The sea no longer unfolds as an open expanse stretching into the distance; instead, it becomes a vertical, shifting surface. The image remains recognizable while resisting immediate legibility, transforming from a landscape into a physical experience of perception.
