After completing her MFA at Academie des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Apolonia Sokol moved to New York (USA) and worked as an assistant for Dan Colen. Later she exhibited in Los Angeles. In Brussels her work was shown with the pieces of Walker Evans. Apolonia lived in Copenhagen (Denmark) and is represented by danish gallery Andersen’s Contemporary. The painter is also represented by Turkish gallery The Pill (Istanbul).

Apolonia Sokol’s work has been exhibited in several institutional group shows such as Tainted Love (curator Yann Chevalier) in new Contemporary Art Space Confort Moderne’s inaugural show in France, Mademoiselle at the CRAC in Sete (curated by Tara Londi), Peindre dit-elle # 2 (curators Julie Crenn, Anabelle Teneze and Amélie Lavin) in Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dole and Emerige Prize 2018 (France) (curator Gaël Charbau). She is sometimes working in collaboration with Azzedine Saleck combining painting and sculptural poetry. The artist’s work is included in several prestigious private collections.
