JENNIFER CAUBET | Solo Show

In situ 25 April 2026 - 6 June 2026

Philippe Jousse and the team at Jousse Entreprise are pleased to announce the third solo show of Jennifer Caubet, on view from April 25 to June 6, 2026. The opening will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 4 pm to 9 pm, in the presence of the artist. A text by François Piron, art critic and curator, will accompany the exhibition.

For her third solo show at the gallery, Jennifer Caubet presents a new body of work exploring a poetics of air circulation, mechanical breathing, and dynamics of compression transposed into the space of art.

Revealing the unsettling proximity between civilian innovation and military applications, the artist presents a series of sculptures in metal and glass that draw on the formal vocabulary of computer processor architecture, eerily evoking shells. Compressions of found objects and recovered clothing take on the appearance of soldiers’ busts and lances, while assembled anti-squat grilles suggest a certain opacity of reality. These sculptural devices, subjected to tension and resistance, question our relationship to the objects and systems that surround us.

Jennifer Caubet graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2008, after studying in Toulouse, Barcelona, and Tokyo. Through singular productions developed in collaboration with specialists, engineers, architects, and companies, she initiates a line of inquiry into, within, and around space, through sculpture, installation, and drawing. The forms and lines she deploys, re-enacts, or places within the spaces she inhabits thus establish the site of the artwork and exhibition as territories of relationships—not only constructed, but still to be constructed.

Recently, Jennifer Caubet took part in the Anglet Biennial and in the second edition of the Nouveau Printemps festival in Toulouse. Her work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris (2024), following her receipt of the Art [ ] Collector Prize in 2023; at URDLA in Villeurbanne (2023); at FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA in Bordeaux; at Le Cyclop in Milly-la-Forêt (2022); at FRAC Occitanie in Montpellier (2018); at Instants Chavirés in Montreuil (2015); and at BF15 in Lyon (2013).

The artist has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, notably at CAPC Bordeaux, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Brest, Le Creux de l’Enfer, La Maréchalerie in Versailles, the Kunsthalle Basel, as well as at Galerie Jousse Entreprise and on the occasion of the fairs Art Basel Paris and FIAC at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Jennifer Caubet has been invited to numerous residency programs, including Ateliers des Arques, the Christoph Merian Foundation, Vent des Forêts, the Centre d’Art Les Tanneries, the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, and the CIRVA – International Center for Glass and Plastic Arts in Marseille.

Her works are held in the public collections of the Centre national des arts plastiques, FRAC Occitanie – Montpellier, Frac PACA, FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA in Bordeaux, and in the collection of Lafayette Anticipations – Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette.
