Marc Newson

Marc Newson studied jewelry and sculpture at the Sydney College of the Arts. In 1987, he moved to Tokyo, where he created the Felt Chair. In 1991, Marc Newson moved to Paris, where he opened his own studio and worked for European furniture companies such as Flos, Cappellini and Moroso. In 1997, Marc Newson moved to London and founded the Marc Newson Ltd. studio, designing furniture for Iittala, Alessi, Magis, B&B Italia, Idee and Dupont Corian, and as an industrial designer for Dassault Aviation and Ford. Marc Newson is an adjunct professor at Sydney College of the Arts. In 2014, he joined Apple, led by Senior Vice-President of the Industrial Design Group Jonathan Ive. Marc Newson works in a wide range of disciplines: from furniture to household objects, from bicycles to cars, as well as airplanes and yachts.
