Guy de Rougemont

Born in Paris on April 23, 1935, Guy de Rougemont studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs from 1954 to 1958, then spent two years at Casa de Velázquez (1962-1964). He took part in the Paris Biennale in 1965 and the Salon de Mai in 1966. Guy de Rougemont seeks to erase the boundaries between art, sculpture and painting, and works in everyday places, squares and streets. Certain pieces of furniture became best-sellers, such as the Nuage coffee table designed in 1970 for decorator Henri Samuel. The elegance of his work, the beauty of which he never forgets the value, and the coherence of his commitment are recognized by his peers.
