“TOOLS” is a work by Elisabetta Benassi created for the signage project at the Venezia metro station construction site (Line C). The work establishes a strong link with the notion of a working-class community: seven construction workers hold tools, their gestures evoking their daily work.
The focus on the workers’ hands reminds us of the narrative vocation of art from bygone eras, its capacity to instantly communicate values ​​and meanings through the universal power of images. The square, by virtue of its public importance, becomes a receptacle for this message, which, from the very heart of the construction site where the action unfolds, is revealed to the city in a symbolic and visual form through the artist’s work.
