Seulgi Lee\u2019s work is established around collaborations that emphasize the link between craft practices and the language system. The artist summons the collective imagination through countries where she has visited to meet artisans: in Tongyeong, Incheon in Korea, in Poitou, in Brittany in the west of France, in the Rif in Morocco or in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. In her work, she constantly explores everyday language and natural forms through sculptures or installations that are distinguished by a formal aesthetic. Seulgi Lee produces anthropological objects that tend towards a geometry of colors with a certain humor.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Seulgi Lee was awarded the Korea Artist Prize for her work presented at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea. Previously, she has collaborated with Herm\u00e8s, the limited edition of Ikea, the Manufacture des Gobelins du Mobilier National, exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo, the Mus\u00e9e des Arts D\u00e9coratifs in Paris and the Jousse Entreprise gallery has also presented her work at FIAC, Art Basel Paris, Art Montecarlo and PAD London. Recently, his work has also been presented in monographic exhibitions, notably at the Centre d\u2019Art Contemporain la Cri\u00e9e (Rennes), at the Casa da Cerce (Almada, Portugal), and at Incheon Art Platform (Korea). Seulgi Lee takes part in the 17th edition of the Lyon Biennale, at the invitation of Alexia Fabre. In 2025, Seulgi Lee will present a solo exhibition at the Icon Gallery in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Her work is part of several public and private collections such as the Kadist Foundation, Seoul Museum of Art, Suwon Museum of Art, Mus\u00e9e Cernuschi, FRAC \u00cele-de-France, Centre national des arts plastiques – CNAP, Fonds d\u2019art contemporain – Paris Collections or the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
