Son travail est un perp\u00e9tuel questionnement sur le visible et sur les dispositifs permettant de capturer ce qui reste indiscernable \u00e0 nos yeux : les impressions, les souvenirs et les pens\u00e9es, dans une ode \u00e0 l\u2019existence et \u00e0 sa fugacit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Il s\u2019inspire de tout ce qui construit notre quotidien et accepte avec bienveillance ce qui participe \u00e0 son dysfonctionnement. Suite \u00e0 des \u00e9tudes \u00e0 la Willem de Kooning Academie de Rotterdam, la China Central Academy of Fine Arts de P\u00e9kin et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, Mao Tao d\u00e9veloppe une pratique conceptuelle multim\u00e9dia s\u2019attachant \u00e0 conqu\u00e9rir les impressions que nous laisse ce monde en mouvement. A la fois confiant et nostalgique, son travail insuffle de la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 aux \u00e9motions. Il invite le spectateur \u00e0 appr\u00e9hender les petits d\u00e9tails avec la m\u00eame fascination que lui. Utilisant largement la science dans son processus cr\u00e9atif, Mao Tao cherche \u00e0 fusionner rationnel et r\u00eaverie et \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des espaces qui semblent \u00e0 cheval entre deux mondes, nous poussant \u00e0 croire \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 ce que nous voyons et ne voyons pas. Il y a quelque chose de po\u00e9tique dans son attention aux d\u00e9tails et dans la patience dont il fait preuve. Ses \u0153uvres prennent leur temps et se construisent dans le temps, elles s\u2019exp\u00e9rimentent sur la longueur et sont souvent con\u00e7ues en s\u00e9rie.
