Pierre Guariche

Pierre Guariche, after a training course in Marcel Gascoin studio sets up his own business in 1951. 

 

The Galerie Mai produced and distributed his first furnitures, followed by Airbone, Meubles TV, Minvielle, Steiner (for the seats) and Disderot (for the lighting). 

 

Between 1953 and 1957, he collaborates with Michel Mortier and Joseph-André Motte named ARP (Atelier de Recherches Plastiques) from 1953 to 1957. Moreover, Pierre Guariche created in 1954 the first moulded plywood seat ever produced in France: the “barrel” seat.
